Basilisks aren't giant horned snakes, they are more like giant Chickens than snakes, though they have features from both. They are referred as "Kings" because of the famous crown atop their heads, borrowed from roosters. This looks like something I'd expect from The Chronicles of Narnia/Lord of The Rings/Harry Potter: a poor excuse for the real thing, simply robbing the name from the original source.
Thanks for your input, but believe it or not, there are different interpretations of the basilisk, just as there are different interpretations of the dragon. I chose to draw this form. Try not to be so malicious when you critique, it tends to offend people.
